(2) Redefining the Art of Shirts

I’d like to share my story as a Sartorial woman. I feel honored to be amongst these creative & innovative ladies, and all their amazing positive impact and change they are introducing through their work.

Born under different circumstances

Micky was born with an unceasing desire to steal firstly my fathers shirt ( as he was a DR, and always dressed in suits) then my boyfriend’s.  Because I noticed the severe difference in quality between Mens clothing and womens.  Lastly, my desire for luxury fabric;  fit and details.  For the absolute confidence of a look. Men acquire it by getting dressed.

After 20+ years in Pret-a-Porter I decided to go back to the root of the clothing business and sought out to meet Daniel Lévy, renowned Paris based mens bespoke shirt maker.  By Proposing him in 2020 a collaboration, which still continues today!

A city girl on a permanent vacation

Micky is a shirt with a new approach, the supreme sophistication is its simplicity.  A symbol of an ever-changing way of life,  A city girl on a permanent vacation. Therefor, it is a story about the scents of lavender, rosemary, sage & the seas of summer rains , warm sands & sunshine.  On the other hand, Micky is the joy of wearing timeless clothing while combining comfort, allure and a spirit of freedom.

Where can you meet Micky? In certain playgrounds; could be Sorrento; Capri; Saint Tropez, Minorca; Venice beach; or the Hamptons.

My Philosophy

Simply put, A men's bespoke  shirt for women , all the best fabric; manufacturing and details! which in turn represents  a lifestyle.

You're not just “buying” a shirt , you're sharing an experience, state of mind, a way of life. The  respect for things well done; luxury, chic; jet set & timeless (a shirt one can continue to wear and collect for 20 years.) It takes time and effort to make most things that have meaning. I don’t believe in seasons, huge collections, or runway shows.

To respond to the world we’re living in today, to retrain how women shop and what they buy in a more sustainable way, and to re-educate women about prices for pieces made extremely well, which come at a certain price point. Also to create a shirt  she feels discreetly sexy & always chic , under all circumstances.

Focus on solutions, not the problems of the industry

To  believe in myself and in what I do, be tenacious & genuine.  I like to focus on solutions, not the problems of the industry. By using the highest quality fabrics from Italy, exclusively cottons from Thomas Mason, because they use only the highest quality,  this allows them to support high farming standards.  To offer a product that can last over 10 years, over continuous wearing which will reduce the 1.92 million tonnes of textile waste produced every year!  My purpose is also to Produce  in France, ensuring that no children work in workshops. This is a guarantee that the product has been manufactured in good conditions and with respect for human rights. No transportation using enormous container ships as maritime transport is the sixth largest greenhouse gas emitter worldwide.

“You gotta’ love what you do”

I’d like to be transparent about what it means to start and run a business; & finding the capital.  You gotta’ love what you do.  I won’t lie, there were times I tried to reinvent myself as a yoga instructor or nutritionist.  But I always came back to creating clothes.  After 20+ years in fashion between luxury and even trying mass market, working in NY, Paris and Vienna.  I was exhausted,  From the shallow people and bizarre theory of making so many clothes,  for Who?  And why?

I took the time to be creative, add details that are functional, not impractical &  frivolous.  It was like a healing process for me, & a reawakening.  Launching & growing a brand takes time, years, decades, and once you believe in what you’re doing, time goes by fast! Use your heart not your ego, others will see it.  And investors notice!
